Top 5 Swimming Holes

Here is my top five swimming area's...

What it costs to get into the pool for the five of us and the website if they have one..

5. Hesston Pool- $10-the kids always have a friend swimming with them. They love the high dive even if I think it's an accident waiting to happen. We can ride bikes so no gas cost. We eat at home and take a snack so not cost there either. Negative things, no slides, nothing to exciting. Just an old school pool.

4. Harvey County East Lake- FREE...The girls all three loved going out there. We would like to camp once the weather is a little better. Negative things, sand in unwanted areas and snakes. I haven't seen one but others have told me about them. eekkk

3. McPherson- http://mcphersonwaterpark.com/WP/default.asp They have Friday night family night. $7 per family. I think we usually have to pay around 12-15 for all five of us to go there. The girls love the slide, Kirsten is allowed to go on it. Kylie loves the bull dog slide and the lazy river. Only bad thing is the water is freezing. Even on 100(+) days the water is really cold. Which can be a good thing too.

2. Halstead- Thanks to two friends we were introduced to this great pool. It's small but AMAZING. They let Kylie wear a life jacket and float around everywhere. She goes off the boards, down the big slide, in the deep end. I'm right beside her of course. A lot of freedom. Family nights are Mondays and Wednesdays 6-8:30. Cost is 2.50/person 5 and under .50. So we pay 10.50. Way worth it. One of our trips we went to Dangelos. They have a special at their shop for $5 one topping medium pizzas. So we could eat cheap. We ate at home last night to save some money but it was tempting to get there again. Bad thing there are few chairs so bring your own if you plan on sitting. We haven't had that problem so far. http://www.halsteadks.com/pdf/swimmingpool_2011.pdf

1. Salina- Kenwood Cove Water park. http://www.kenwoodcove.com/ This place is number one because it's fun for everyone. They have the best kid area for Kylie's age and below. They have a FULL size pool with high dive and low dive boards. They have 5 or 6 big slides. A wave pool. FREE TUBES TO USE. A family slide. Lily pads to jump across, large lazy river. Some of the double tubes have a bottom on them so toddlers can float without falling into the water. I could go on for a long time about this place. The girls LOVE IT. The best part is it's only $19 for all five us to get into. We do have to pay about $10 in gas to get there. We have only gone twice this summer because of that but it's worth it.  Bad thing, it's packed and you have to search a few minutes for somewhere to put your stuff. But we have always been able to find one. Donnie says the park is insane. That is another bad part. You have to drive around a bit or park down the road.

I didn't mention Hutchinson because our kids don't like the lay out. We have never gone to derby. I looked at the cost and with gas it would be close to $60 bucks for us to go. I don't think it's worth it. Maybe if the kids were older and swam all day.
